4. Is prior cheerleading / tumbling experience required?
No, prior cheerleading / tumbling experience is NOT required. The coaching staff has the willingness to
train any youth no matter the level of past or lack of experience. During the first month of the program,
cheerleaders will be taught and drilled on basic cheerleading techniques including proper motions /
placement, jumps and stunting.
5. Is gymnastic/tumbling required?
Tumbling is a significant component of All-Star cheerleading. While we are willing to accept cheerleaders
who may not enter the program with tumbling skills, all cheerleaders will be expected to train and
obtain the required tumbling skills (i.e.: forward/back rolls, cartwheel, round off, standing back handspring,
front hand spring, round off back handspring) prior to the start of the competition season. Those
cheerleaders who have not achieved and mastered the required skills may be asked to serve as an alternate
on the team.
6. How often does the team practice?
PAC will make every effort to ensure that there will be no more than 6 hours per week of practice.
Please note that there is always the possibility that practices may be added during the competition season
AND practices may run longer than scheduled. We will make every effort to avoid the frequency of this
occurrence, however team readiness is 100% tied to practice.
7. Will there be fundraising opportunities?
The cost of cheerleading can be very expensive. This is especially true for all star cheerleading. One of the
goals of PAC is to make cheerleading accessible to everyone. There will be fundraising opportunities to
assist with meeting this goal. Participation in fundraisers will be on a volunteer basis, BUT ONLY THOSE
INDIVIDUALS WHO PARTICIPATE IN THE FUNDRAISERS WILL BENEFIT FROM THE
FUNDRAISERS.
There will be a number of individual and team fundraisers scheduled throughout the season:
A - Individual fundraisers will include candy sales, scratch cards, and pizza kits sells with the profit going
directly on the cheerleader's bill to defray program cost.
B - Program fundraisers such as bucket drives, bowling parties, and dinner sell profit will go into the general
fund to supplement competition fees, the cost of travel, competition routine choreography, and end of season
activity.
8. Does the team travel?
The team will participate in a number of competitions throughout the tri-state area. They will participate in at
least one competition per season where they will be required to stay overnight.
9. Are cheerleaders allowed to participate in other extra-curricular activities?
Through we encourage our cheerleaders to be well rounded, we ask that during the season they not
participate in extra-curricular activities that interfere with PAC practices and competition schedule.
If this becomes an issue, the cheerleader will be asked to choose between cheerleading and other outside
activities. There will be no refund of fees paid prior to cheerleading leaving the squad.
